What the Vibe Meter shows
Every restaurant in AMBIENT has a Vibe Meter reading: a score on a 10-point scale plus a few descriptor words, such as Lively, Quiet, Intimate or Buzzing. The score describes atmosphere: the energy of the room, how loud it gets, the lighting and the kind of crowd it draws. A 9/10 is not better than a 4/10. It tells you how much energy to expect, so a quiet dinner and a loud night out can both find a good match.
Where the signals come from
Most Vibe Meter readings are estimated by AI from public signals about the room, such as how visitors describe the space, the noise level and the crowd. Where AMBIENT users have rated a restaurant’s vibe themselves, those ratings are part of the reading too.
What it is not
The Vibe Meter is not a star rating or a review score. It does not judge food, service or value, and a higher number does not mean a better restaurant. AMBIENT does not show Google ratings or reprint reviews from other sites.
Scores can change
A restaurant’s atmosphere changes over time: a new menu, a renovation, a different weekend crowd. When the signals behind a reading change, the Vibe Meter changes with them, so a score you saw last month may be different today.
